C-NPR principals shooting "Changes"
for Union Carbide's Chemicals & Plastics Group. Here we are on
location in the middle of December on a bitterly cold patio of a closed-for-the-season
inn overlooking a lake in Connecticut shooting a video. One of the minor
goals was to make the scene look like spring which (with enough HMIs, rosy
make-up, and a willing talent) we happily did.
As mentioned on the opening page, the goal
was to present the corporation's new profit-sharing plan to employees and
secure their acceptance.
The 15-minute video was completed in 6 weeks
(from initial meeting to release) and that included writing, shooting,
rough-cutting, and final editing over Christmas and New Year.
Ah, the joys of video . . .
The result? Every affected
plant voted to accept the new plan and give up an already-negotiated pay
increase.
The closing scene, mid-afternoon.
And , my, it was cold ; something like 20 degrees in the sun. If you looked
carefully, you'd see bugs ice-skating on the coffe in the talent's mug.
Another shot of our team
on that
cold patio. Notice the happy
grip waving
with his two-pound gloves .
